Overview

The 'CKCPS Series Control and Protective Switching Devices' represent a new category of low-voltage electrical equipment. Developed in China during the 1990s, they constitute a major product category that filled a domestic market gap. As a new product category, their product code is 'CPS', an abbreviation of the English term 'Control and Protective Switching Device'. They comply with the standard IEC 60947-6-2 (1997) 'Low-voltage switchgear and controlgear – Part 6: Multifunctional devices – Section 2: Control and protective switch devices' (First edition, August 1992) and GB 14048.9-1998 'Low-voltage switchgear and controlgear – Multifunctional devices (equipment) – Part 2: Control and protective switch devices (equipment)' (equivalent to IEC 60947-6-2). The codes and electrical symbols specified by the IEC standard and the national standard are shown in the figure.

Features and uses

The CKCPS adopts a modular, single -unit design,

integrating the key functions of a conventional circuit breaker (fuse), contactors, overload (or overcurrent, phase loss) protection relays, starters, isolators and other key functions. It features panel indicators and electromechanical alarm functions, as well as overvoltage and undervoltage protection, phase loss protection, and coordinated time -current protection characteristics (including inverse-time, fixed-time and instantaneous three-stage protection characteristics). By selecting functional modules or accessories as required, it is possible to achieve control and protection of motor loads and power distribution loads.

The CKCPS is primarily designed for use in AC 50 Hz (60 Hz) power systems with a rated voltage up to 690 V, a rated current from 1 A to 125 A, and an adjustable operating current from 0.4 A to 100 A. It is capable of making, carrying and breaking currents under normal conditions (including specified overload conditions), as well as making, carrying and breaking currents under specified abnormal conditions (such as short circuits).
